General Description

The BR8242-FMP is a high performance, cost-effective, differential-drive, DP-IQ packaged optical modulator suitable for coherent transceivers in metro and long-haul applications up to 32 GBd. The modulator chip is based on a proprietary Thin Film Polymer on Silicon (TFPS™) zero-chirp and high-bandwidth modulator chip, making the BR8242-FMP suitable in advanced E-O modulation formats such as 100G DP-QPSK and 200G DP-16QAM.

Ordering flexibility is one of the important features of the BR8242-FMP. It provides a possibility to have an integrated SOA for a high output power option. The BR8242-FMP also provides different ordering options for the RF interconnections, including RF pins for soldering into a high frequency PCB, and also G3PO connectors for high-performance applications.
